The big bad world after high school
After attending Mountain Lakes Schools from first grade thru 12th, it was excellent preparation for the big bad world after high school. I attended University of South Carolina for three years, with our classmates Larry Jackson and Skip Vogel. Due to several factors I took a semester off from school, at a bad time when Vietnam was still an issue. I was drafted and when they told me I was going to be a Marine, I enlisted in the US Army. I spent 20 plus years in the US Army. At first I trained as a Military Policeman, and later was trained as Criminal Investigator. I specialized as a Polygraph Examiner, performing over 1000 polygraph exams during my military career. I retired in 1989 from the US Army as a Warrant Officer Four, and began working for the Defense Security Service, which regulates and investigates contractor company's that perform classified contracts for the Department of Defense. I work in Southern NJ, DE, and MD eastern shore. I presently live with my significant other Diane Warren, in Mays Landing, NJ.
I was married in 1973, while stationed in Germany to a German girl, and had two children. My two son's Dirk and Steven have grown in fine young men at ages 32 and 30. My youngest son Steven was just married June 2005, and resides in Bristow, VA, he works as a program security manager for Northrop Grumman. My oldest son Dirk, resides with me and works locally for a commercial refrigeration company. I was divorced in 1982, and was single for ten years. I remarried in 1993, but due to several factors that marriage ended in divorce in 2000.
I have enjoyed excellent health during the time since leave MLHS, and have not spent a night in the hospital since five years old for my tonsillectomy. As most of us gravity has caught up with me, and although within ten pounds of the weight I graduate from MLHS, the pounds are a bit lower.
I have not had much contact with our classmates, except recently John Darco contacted me and we have chatted a few times. Looking forward to seeing you all again in July, and catching up on forty years of life's events. Hard to believe it has been that long, but guess when having fun times go by too fast.
