Dear Class of '65
Collage: US Naval Academy where I continued my enviable academic record of C's with a few B's, and my main interest continued to be sports and maxing out demerits without getting kicked out (good thing the Army - Navy Tennis match was the last event of the year). I did win the Naval Academy sword for being the best athlete in my class (not as much competition as MLHS).
Upon graduation Jane Oyer and I married and had 3 wonderful children....all girls...Ingrid, Christine and Diane. Jane did all the work while I was traveling the world in the US Marine Corps. After 5 years I left the service and went to work for Procter & Gamble in sales in Kansas City, later moved to Dallas and left them at 34 (1981) to join a food brokerage company as a minority partner. Jane & I divorced that year and I later married again, Bridgie suffered with breast cancer and eventually died about 10 years later. Our business was growing thru acquistion and I moved to Houston to run that branch, married again to Brenda and our business decided to go national without proper financing, so we were taken over by Richmont (Mary Kay) they moved me to Newport Beach Ca. where I ran the West Coast. After 3 years I took a package and went back to school to become a Certified Financial Planner. Moved to Asheville, NC ...Brenda wanted 4 seasons and I wanted to play golf most of the year.
I love what I do now and have been very fortunate...3 great wives and 3 great children and now 3 great grandchildren.
