I haven't been back to the Garden State in a decade...
My last interaction with the class was at 20-we're still Virginians. In fact, I haven't been back to the Garden State in a decade. Interestingly, our next door neighbor was in my brothers MLHS class of 1967. Currently, Chris and I are both physicians at Martha Jefferson Hospital while my wife Barbara is an internist at the University hospital (we're in good shape if somebody gets sick)!
After HS, I spent 4 years in Annapolis, then 7 a helo pilot in the Marines before Univ of Miami med school and UVa Orthopedic Surgery residency. I am the Chief of Orthopedics here and my practice is mostly arthroscopic surgery of knee and shoulder problems.
Barbara and I have 3 kids, oldest 16, so we're a little behind those of you who procreated early, They are the focus of our lives.
Having the good sense to pick my parents wisely, I'm lucky enough to still have hair-most of it brown-and the blessing of good health. A while back I made the leap from running to swimming (swam around Manhattan a number of years ago plus the English Channel). Triathlons dominate right now, although an awful lot of things seem to hurt much of the time, and I'll be at the starting line October 15th for my 6th Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.
Overall, life is really very good! Having received our educational foundation at MLHS gave us all a good start and checking in every decade or two keeps those fires burning. I'll bet that some in the class have retired (I'm jealous!) and that we face the same challenges every day. I will only be at the reunion on Friday and hope to see as many of you as possible.
