Dear Classmates
I've been married for twenty-three years to David Karklin. Together, we raised my two sons, from a previous marriage, Michael & Christopher, along with David's son, Ken. We have moved around the country, living in both the northeast and the south. We've done quite a bit of traveling and continue doing so.
David is the Quality Assurance Director for Amphenol Aerospace based in Sidney, NY. We live "out in the boonies" on top of a mountain, in the town of Butternuts near the village of Gilbertsville, where we enjoy every aspect of rural life.
My son, Michael, lives in Olympia, Washington, is deeply involved in the arts and has his own recording/production company. He is also a performer, writer and lyricist. Christopher lives in Vermont, is a geologist, was married to Rose on September 17, 2005. Chris is also a musician as is Rose. My stepson, Ken and wife, Heather, both engineers, live in San Francisco.
After graduating from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, I performed in some theatrical productions. I starred as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire to name a few. I still occasionally do some acting, but find that writing is more satisfying at this stage of my life. I also love gardening and once the snow has finally left our area in the spring, I can be found outdoors most days.
I derive great joy from my family and have a wonderful relationship with my sons and their significant others. David and I don't as yet have grandchildren, but are looking forward to that possibility in the future.
All in all, despite the sorrows that this world brings to all of us, my life has been very good. It's hard to believe that forty years have flown by since high school graduation. When I think back on my early years in Mountain Lakes I am very grateful for that part of my life. Our hometown was and remains a unique community.
